Episode 4: The Light of Menace

Épisode 4 : La Lueur de la Menace

Scene 1: The Imminent Escape

The Navigation Seal , a glass globe shimmering with liquid stars, floated delicately in Jax's hand. "First fragment!" he exclaimed, a victorious smile stretching his lips. Pyxis flew around the globe, her flames dancing with excitement. "This will take us straight to the Legend Worlds !"

"This is going to lead us straight into Silas Vane 's mouth if we don't get out!" Anya snapped, her gaze fixed on her suit's sensors. Circuits, perched on her shoulder, was emitting slight vibrations. "I'm detecting Solus reconnaissance microwaves. They located us the moment the Remnant activated."

Kaelen Rion, via radio, confirmed in a deep voice: "The Seal's energy is a beacon for the Corporation. The Aether Wind is already undergoing lockdown attempts. I won't be able to hold them off for long."

Scene 2: A Temporary Solution

"We need to jam their signal!" Jax ordered. "Anya, do you have a brilliant idea for blinding them?"

Anya frowned, thinking fast. She looked around, her eyes settling on the glowing Circuit Glyphs that still covered the walls of the room. “The ancients used this energy to power their systems. If I can reverse the flow of the Navigation Seal …”

"You want to use the Remnant as a decoy?" Jax asked in surprise.

“Not as a decoy, as a temporary jammer !” Anya clarified. Circuits stirred, picking up on his partner’s idea. The Astramau flew toward the glyphs, its Technological Resonance tracing a new connection sequence. “It’ll create an energy pulse strong enough to disrupt their sensors. But the Seal won’t withstand the overload for very long.”

Scene 3: The Seal Overload

Under Anya's direction, and with the help of Circuits' precise detections, Jax and Anya worked at high speed. Jax, surprisingly agile for a non-engineer, helped Anya reconfigure the glyphs. Pyxis watched the area around the wreck, ready to sound the alarm.

An intense glow emanated from the Navigation Seal . The globe of liquid stars began to pulse, emitting an invisible wave of energy that spread through the wreckage and into the Great Static Field .

On the bridge of the Aetherwind , Kaelen Rion's screens went blank for a moment. "Massive jamming! The plan is working!"

Aboard his Spectre Interceptor , Silas Vane saw all his sensors go haywire. "Unexpected interference! The Remnant 's signal is... chaotically amplified." His Astramau, Spectre, grew a little more opaque, the effort blurring its form.

Scene 4: A Bitter Retreat

"The charge is unstable!" Anya shouted. "We have to get out of here, Jax! The Seal is going to break!"

The duo rushed out of the wreckage, just as the Navigation Seal released one last burst of energy before shutting down, its liquid starburst fading.

"They're escaping!" Vane raged. " Spectre , initiate pursuit! Locate the source of this interference!"

The Aether Wind sped through the Great Static Field, taking advantage of Solus's temporary blindness. But Jax clenched his fist. The Navigation Seal , though intact, no longer glowed. "The first Remnant," he murmured. "And it's already depleted."

“It’s not exhausted, Jax,” Anya replied, her eyes fixed on the unlit globe. “It’s... dormant. But Vane now knows the importance of what we have.
